Report: Lotus Club Holland after summer tour

Every year the Lotus Club Holland organises an after summer tour through a certain part of the Netherlands. Club members can join the tour for free and friends can come along for a small fee. Sunday the 7th of October was the day for this years tour which started in Laren, a small town in the province of Gelderland. Due to the lack of public transport on the early sunday morning, I was not able to arrive any earlier than 11.18 am and I couldn't take any shots of the arrival of all cars because I still had to sign in.

My ride for the day was going to be an Exige S2 with the British GT pack. This is the car I was hoping to see because of it's unique striping. I've seen some pictures of it before and on the pictures it looks amazing so I was wondering how it looks it real life. I can say it looks absolutely stunning! The dark yellow stripes on the black car show a great contrast and you don't have to worry about getting noticed. This Exige will do 0 - 100 kilometers an hour in about 4.5 seconds with a topspeed of 250 kilometers an hour. The engine in the Exige creates a stunning 247 bhp.

The ride started in the small town of Laren where near 30 Lotus cars gathered at a local restaurant. Each car received a guidebook so they knew where they had to go. The guidebook had two parts so we had two different methods of navigation. The first part was quite easy, you had to follow an arrow. The second part didn't have the arrow to you were only given directions like "left" and "right". It was a lot of fun and we made it halfway. After our lunch break we drove through an amazing area called "Holterberg". It was very crowded with people enjoying the day. While driving with two other cars, we reached a certain point where we got a bit lost and ended up at some farmers land. We made a wrong turn and the road was a dead end. Both sons of the farmer were very surprised and made some quick shots of the cars...only a few moments later we got lost again and decided to call it a day.

We drove to a town just 15 minutes from the final destination, sat on the terrace outside and had a drink. After a while it was time to make our way to Zenderen, a small town in the eastern part of the Netherlands, just south of Almelo. Lotus Club Holland arranged a perfect dinner but unfortunately not everybody decided to stay because they had a long way home.

And ofcourse I've made a video too!
