Weird cars, also known as replicas

Most of us dream about owning a supercar once. Unfortunately, the biggest group will never be able to afford such a ride. The prices are too high and that's a bummer. Thank god there are people who wouldn't mind driving a fake Ferrari or Lamborghini. These kitcars, also known as replicas, are sometimes five to six times cheaper than the original. Creative people use the Toyota MR2 and Pontiac Fiero quiten often as donor cars for their projects.

The people behind Rarecars.org turned their hobby into their business. The biggest difference is that these people don't build replicas based on others car, like a Fiero or MR2, but they create the car from new materials. Unfortunately, all cars come with the same engine. They use a 2.8 liter V6 on a General Motors chassis. Rarecars.org needs sixteen weeks to compleet a car. At the moment they have a couple of cars for sale. Check them out and tell us what you think.

Lamborghini Diablo Roadster: 42.000$.

Lamborghini Murcielago: 42.000$.

Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster: 42.000$

Porsche Carrera GT. Very exotic as they call it. We'd call it very fake, ofcourse it's visible this car is a replica but this is just really obvious....too bad. Looks like a Toyota MR2. Price is only $34.000!

BMW Z8. This car has been built on a BMW Z4 chassis. It looks quite good actually even though you see its short-wheel-base. Prices from $35.000 - $42.000.

Ferrari 360 Spider. Built on a Toyota MR2 frame. This car has not been built by Rarecars but they do have two of these kits in stock. Prices range from $35.000 to $42.000.

Weird widebody Mercedes CLK. Ever thought about the Mercedes CLK DTM AMG (that one is actually real) when you see the image below? In case you're really desperate....price on request!

Driven by the biggest Porsche fanatic in the Netherlands.

Photos: Mercedes CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet

The Mercedes CLK DTM AMG: one out of 100. A very unique car in its own way. In short, this car is a widebody version of the CLK AMG and surprisingly it has tons of space in the back! Behind the front seats Mercedes managed to create enough space so you can actually sit there and not feel cramped! I find myself extremely lucky so see a car like this in the wild. Anyway, 582 bhp, supercharged 5.5 liter V8 and a topspeed of 320 kilometers per hour.

Video: Porsche 911 gets crushed

The Porsche 911 has been a success for more than 40 years now. Porsche names its first 911 the "901", referring to its internal project number. At first, Porsche used air-cooled engines for the 911 but from 1998 they switched to water-cooled engines. The 911 is a very popular car because it's a rather inexpensive sportscar if you compare it with a Ferrari, Aston Martin or Lamborghini. Something we don't like to see is how a 911 get crushed for fun. Is it for fun? Or is it design? Check the video and see what happens.

Video: Mercedes C-class Estate

Not very new but still cool to see. Once again Mercedes made a very nice commercial for the new C-class Estate. We're really looking forward to the C63 AMG Estate!
